Description:
The groom garlands his bride during a South Indian Hindu wedding. South Indian weddings are very different to those of the north. Instead of circumnambulating the sacred flame seven times, as in the north, the couples who marry in the southern style sit together and are blessed by relatives who pour milk over their joined hands, shower them in rice and bless them with money. The groom is traditionally called the boy and the bride the girl. |
